About

ThomasI am a research associate and PhD-student at the Institute for Geoinformatics (ifgi)University of Münster, where I lead the GI@School lab. I also am associated to the spatial intelligence lab (SIL) and the  semantic interoperability lab (MUSIL) at ifgi. I am also working for the Vespucci Initiative in the organization of the Vespucci Institutes for the Advancement of Geographic Information in Science.

My research, work and projects were awarded with several prizes, most recently in the German University Challenge 2014 (Winner), the NASA World Wind Europa Challenge 2013 (Winner as a Mentor) and  with the ACM Eugene Lawler Award 2013.

Further I am interested in science communication, citizen science and motivating kids to code, to think spatially and to engage in science.
